Saverio Garrafa

GSaverio Garrafa was born around 1790 in Montalto Uffugo to Domenico Garrafa and Maria Cessario. Although Saverio was born in Montalto Uffugo and died in Montalto Uffugo, it is clear that he and some of his children did live in San Benedetto Ullano for a period of time. It is possible they owned property in both communi and I have ordered records from San Benedetto Ullano to pursue this information. Saverio died around the age of 48 in 1838. A copy of his death record can be seenhere. As you can see, the death of Saverio was reported by his brother Gennaro.

Maria Napolitano

Maria Napolitano was born about 1795 in Montalto Uffugo to Raffaele Napolitano and Saveria Licciardi. Because this family is so early, the information I have is still limited. It is clear that Maria's father was quite old by the time of her birth, about 78 year old. When Saverio died in 1838 Maria was left to raise her younger children alone. Maria died 37 years after Saverio at the age of 80 in 1875.
