Giovanni Rua
Giovanni Rua was born about 1771 in the Santa Maria La Castagna frosione of Montalto to Gaetano Rua and Caterina Bruno. He married Caterina Saullo sometime before 1793. I have found 9 children of Giovanni and Caterina. The majority of their children were born before the state civil records existed and because of this, little is known about what Giovanni did for work. What is known is he lived and died in the Santa Maria La Castagna frazione. Giovanni Rua died 13 August 1840 at the age of 69.
Caterina Saullo
Caterina Saullo was born about 1776 to Rosario Saullo and Innocenza Caparro. It is not known when she married Giovanni Rua, however she did marry him before the age of 17. Together Giovanni and Caterina had at least 8 children.
