Enrico Napolitano

Napolitano coat of arms Enrico Napolitano was born in February 1864 to Costantino Napolitano and Pasqualina Aiello. It is unknown when Enrico died, however, he was still living in 1930 when one of his grandchildren was born. In August, 1890 Enrico married Aquilina Arturi. A copy of their marriage bann can be viewed here. My access to the records ends in 1910. The last child I have for them was born in 1910, however, I am certain they had more children after this date. The children I did find records for are listed below.

Aquilina Arturi

Aquilina Arturi was born in 1874 and was the daughter of Saverio Natale Arturi and Pasqualina Napolitano. Saverio Arturi was the son of Antonio Arturi and Carmela Napolitano. Pasqualina Napolitano was the daughter of Filippo Napolitano and Caterina Nicastro.

The Children of Enrico and Aquila

Violant Napolitano married Francesco Arturi in 1910.

Emilio married Rosa Riso who was the daughter of Giuseppe Riso and Maria Albina. Her grandfather was Diego Riso. Although they were married and had children after 1910, I did see baptism records for 2 of their children. They had a daughter they named Aquila Elena born in 1924 and a son named Vittorio born in 1933. I am sure they had more children, but these are the only children I have seen records for.

Adolfo Napolitano married Angela Bozzarelli on 20 September 1930. Their marriage that was performed at Chiesa della La Visitazione della Beata Vergine Maria in Vaccarizzo in Montalto Uffugo. A copy of the church record can be viewed here.

Rocky NapolitanoRocco Napolitano right Montalto Uffugo and sailed on the ship called the Oceania which set sail from Napoli, Italy bound for New York. He arrived in New York in 1910 at the age of 17. Also on the ship were Giuseppe DeLuca, Vincenzo LoFeudo, Luigi Porro and Michele Mele. Rocco left New York and went to Chicago. Shortly after his arrival in Chicago, Rocco was a lodger in the boarding house of my great grandmother Natalina Scrugli located on Loomis Street in Chicago's "Little Italy" section of the city. Rocco was called Rocky in Chicago. On 25 June 1916 he married Adelina Arturi in Chicago. Adelina was born in Austria and immigrated to Chicago with her mother and brothers. When Rocky and Adelina married, they lived with Adelina's mother and younger brothers. On 28 March 1919 Rocky became a citizen of the United States. Rocky supported his wife, children and the Arturi family with his earnings from his job as a chef in Chicago. Rocky died in June, 1971.
